Local artist Pete Goodlet of Murwillumbah won a 1.5kW solar system valued at $3,473 from SAE Group when he entered a prize draw at the “Living for the Future Home Expo” held at Tweed Heads Civic & Cultural Centre and sponsored by Tweed Shire Council.

SAE Group is a proud exhibitor at the show to support the local Tweed Shire and was delighted with the response to their prize draw and the high level of public interest in solar energy and the savings it delivers to householders on their electricity bills.

Pete Goodlet, no stranger to the benefits of solar energy; has a solar hot water system installed at home said ‘Tweed Shire Council did a great job with Living for the Future Home Expo and anything that encourages and promotes sustainability gets my vote every time”.

An SAE 1.5kW Solar System is a great way to subsidise your power bills, as it is one of the smaller and more cost effective solar systems available. Although you may not make money off any excess electricity that your system produces there is still a return of investment (ROI), in the region of 15-22%. Like Peter Goodlet, many people are now realising solar is still a wise choice to make, especially as every time the power companies put their prices up the payback time decreases and the ROI increases.

SAE Group is a big supporter of local sustainable energy initiatives; they won BEATS people’s choice awards in 2013 and are finalists in this year’s BEATS people’s choice awards.
