SAE Group’s Latest 143kW Large Lommercial Solar Install
More and more companies are discovering the value of installing Solar power systems. Recently SAE Group were approached by Solo Resource Recovery to quote on a large commercial Solar Install across two separate buildings.
Solo Recovery Recovery is a 100% Australian owned and operated waste management and industrial services organisation that specialise in the collection, transport, processing and disposal of all forms of waste. SAE Group was engaged by Solo to design and quote on a solar system that would minimise the power usage from the grid over the 2 separate buildings. The interval data usage was analysed to map the usage over the previous year of operations to correctly size the required PV system. Once SAE Group had worked out the system size we were able to present to Solo Resource Recovery our findings with extensive graph overlays, data and ROI.
The Installation itself is spread over North, East and West roofs to maximise the Solar production throughout the day to suit the Internal usage from the premises. The 99kw Installation was required to be export limited to 40kw over the 3 phases as per Essential Energy approval, which was enabled by the use of SMA export control hardware paired with The SMA Inverters. 384 Seraphim 260 watt panels were installed alongside the SMA inverters and export control hardware ensuring that Solo recovery had Tier 1 rated company panels that had led the way in one of the solar industries toughest tests.
A further 167 Seraphim 260kW panels were then installed on the office roof with another two SMA inverters. This ensured the office electricity needs were covered by the 43kW and drastically cutting back Solo’s energy costs by $46, 206 per year. With a return on investment of three years, 4-months Solo have already made great cuts to their operating costs.
