$145,000 Penalty for Fake Testimonials and False Solar Energy Claims

Solar businesses Euro Solar and Worldwide Energy and Manufacturing Pty Ltd (WEMA) have been ordered by the Federal Court to pay combined penalties of $125,000 after it was found the solar businesses faked testimonials and made false misleading representations about the country of origin of the solar panels they supply.

Businesses are warned the use of testimonials on social media are also considered to be part of a businesses’ promotional portfolio.
